Paperworld China 2013 introduces Zone of Elite

Fringe programme offers information exchange and networking opportunities 


Paperworld China will open from 25 – 27 September 2013 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. It is the country’s most international trade fair for the stationery and office supplies industry, and is introducing a new feature called Zone of Elite which is dedicated to high quality products.

Ms Fiona Chiew, Deputy General Manager for the show organiser Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, commented on the new zone. “Today’s consumers are now looking for good product quality,” she explained. “To meet this need, the new Zone of Elite will showcase high quality stationery items that are offered by internationally well-known suppliers such as Troika (Germany), Philippi (Germany), Simbalion (Taiwan) and CARL (Japan).” 

In addition, the ninth edition of Paperworld China will house regional pavilions from Korea and Taiwan, as well as local pavilions from Fuijian, Ningbo, Shandong, Tonglu and Wenzhou. Altogether, there will be 430 exhibitors from 11 countries and regions, representing Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Switzerland, UK and the US. Exhibitors will include Dokumental (Germany), Eagle (China), Liberty (Taiwan), Pilot (Japan), Polar Bear (Taiwan), Premec (Switzerland), Stick ’N (Japan), US Ring (US) as well as first time exhibitors like Braun (US), M&G (China), Missbone (China) and Ujipin (China). 

More than 20,000 professional visitors from different parts of the world, including buying missions from Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan are expected to visit the 24,680 sqm show. They will view exhibits which include office supplies, office technology, paper and printing products, writing instruments, artist supplies as well as gift articles.

As well as being an ideal platform for sourcing, visitors are able to find out the latest market information by attending industry seminars.  This year’s topics are related to stationery retailing, a new regulation in European Union as well as Russian market news. 

Another attraction at this year’s Paperworld China will be Extraordinary Stationery, a special zone consisting of product displays, presentations and DIY activities. Participating exhibitors include Schneider which will introduce its latest products, while at the DIY Interactive Classroom, visitors can enjoy painting, origami, clay and Chinese traditional arts and crafts as well as giving their feedback to exhibitors. 

Paperworld China is organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, the China Chamber of Commerce for I/E of Light Industrial Products & Arts-crafts and the Guangzhou Foreign Trade South China Exhibition Corp Ltd. 

It will be held concurrently with Interior Lifestyle China, the trade fair for lifestyle and household products and accessories. Holding the two shows at the same venue offers buyers a larger range of products to choose from.
