More than 20,000 domestic and international buyers are expected to visit Paperworld China with its enhanced visitor program

Paperworld China, the country’s most international stationery and office supplies trade show is expected to attract more than 20,000 professional visitors when it is held from 25 – 27 September 2013 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Shanghai, China. It is an important platform that connects Chinese and international markets.

“50x50” domestic buyer programme invites retailers to the fair

This year, a new domestic buyer programme called “50x50” has been launched whereby 50 leading stationery wholesalers from different provinces in China are going to invite at least 50 retailers to visit Paperworld China. The programme alone is expected to attract over 3,000 buyers.

Commenting on “50x50” programme, Ms Fiona Chiew, Deputy General Manager for Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, one of the show organisers, said: “I believe our new programme will help to stimulate trade activities at the show because it encourages a more efficient information flow among various parts in the distribution network of the industry. For example, retailers who have a close connection with end-users can inform wholesalers about what interests them at the show, and then the wholesalers can place their orders with suppliers on the spot.” 

Paperworld China is where the retailers can explore and order interesting products from different parts of the world. Shanghai Meriful Office Supplies Co Ltd is a retailer, wholesaler and distributor for international brands such as 3M, Canon and Epson. Mr Zhenhai Hu, the company’s General Manager is a regular visitor to Paperworld China due to its respected industry reputation. Talking about this year’s show, he said: “I am going to observe new industry trends and opportunities and I am looking forward to meeting suppliers from America and Europe.”

Nanning Jinlun Office Supplies Co Ltd from China’s Guangxi Province is another loyal visitor because of the show’s important industry influence. The company has 16 stores offering a choice of more than 10,000 stationery items. General Manager Mr Wu Huang said: “At the fair I can acquire the latest market trends and source for different types of office stationery.” 

International industry organisations support the show by arranging buying delegations

Paperworld China is also supported by international visitors and several buying missions arranged from Germany, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. These missions are organised by Boss magazine of Germany, Korea Stationery Industries Cooperative, Selangor & Kuala Lumpur Stationers & Booksellers Association and the Federation of Stationers and Booksellers Association of Malaysia, Singapore Booksellers and Stationers Association, as well as Taiwan Education Supplies Association respectively.

Boss is a well known German trade magazine and is organising a delegation of six to ten buyers. The magazine’s Publisher, Mr Siegfried Elsaß said: “We have been organising delegations to source at Paperworld China for several years because industry buyers are interested to visit the show which can help German buyers meet quality suppliers from China and other parts of Asia. It is a quality platform for visitors wanting to explore new business opportunities.” 

Adding to the sourcing experience, a business matching service is offered, and among the confirmed participants are InterAction from Belgium, Farook International Stationery LLC from the United Arab Emirates and Blake Envelope from the UK. They will meet appropriate suppliers to enhance their sourcing efficiency.

At the ninth edition of Paperworld China, visitors will be able to view over 500 suppliers who will display a wide range of products including office supplies, paper and printing products, writing instruments, school supplies and gift articles in an exhibition area of 24,600 sqm gross. The exhibitors are representing 11 countries and regions including China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Switzerland, UK and the US. In addition, there will be individual pavilions from Korea and Taiwan, as well as local pavilions from Fujian, Ningbo, Tonglu and Wenzhou. Confirmed participating brands include CARL (Japan), Dokumental (Germany), Eagle (China), Liberty (Taiwan), Pilot (Japan), Simbalion (Taiwan), Premec (Switzerland), Stick’N (Taiwan) and US Ring (US).

Paperworld China is organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd, the China Chamber of Commerce for I/E of Light Industrial Products & Arts-crafts and Guangzhou Foreign Trade South China Exhibition Corp Ltd. This year’s show will be held concurrently with Interior Lifestyle China, the trade fair for lifestyle and household products and accessories. Holding the two shows at the same venue offers buyers a larger range of products to choose from.
